The Holler Inn is a typical Utila wooden house and was the family home of the Holler family up until 3 years ago. The owner of the house (Joe Holler) now lives with his wife on the mainland in La Ceiba (the nearest mainland town), but his mother (Annie Holler) still lives in a small house at the bottom of the hill at the entrance to the grounds of The Holler Inn. On your arrival you will be met you at the municipal dock (if you are arriving by ferry [The Utila Princess]) or the airport (if you are arriving by air). A local taxi will be arranged for you and take you to the Holler Inn. (You will have to pay the taxi fare of around $US 10.00). You will be introduced to The Holler Inn, (power/water supplies, etc), and if it is your first time in Utila, directions and advice about the town will be provided. Mark Smith, the caretaker, is available 24 hours if you need advice or assistance. |
