The Utila East Wind is Utila's only local newspaper. This free newspaper was brought to fruition by the dedication and hard-work of the papers joint editors and publishers, Louise Powell and Tara Noble-Singh. First published on the 5-May-2005 with a limited print run of 2,000 copies, the paper is widely read through-out Utila and available from most stores and dive shops in Utila, plus the offices of the Utila Princess in La Ceiba.
In May 2006, the publishers and owners of the Utila East Wind decided to start their own web site (www.utilaeastwind.com) and are no longer making the paper available for publication on AboutUtila.com.
